BUS SHELTER

War Museum Bus Shelter

Concept

The enlightened bus shelter, located outside of the Canadian War Museum invokes the raw emotion of soldiers at war. The overall layout of the bus shelter features eleven copper columns spaced evenly in a row, paying tribute to the column formation in which soldiers march. The columns gradually increase in height encompassing the user, creating a sense of confinement. This structure creates an encapsulating and submerging effect as one enters the shelter, bringing forward the feelings soldiers felt when waiting in the trenches.

This was a group project equally designed by Haley Stirling and myself.
