HOSPITALITY

LUNA Rehabilitation Center

Concept

The concept for the Luna rehabilitation center is based around the treatment and restoration of the brain functions. With the moon as the inspiration for the design, the elements such as defused lighting, neutral tones, textures and circular forms can be seen within the space. The space embodies the beauty of day and night with the contrast of light and dark will be used within the center. Since the moon is known for impacting the well-being of people, the space will be designed with elements in which the moon impacts the most- such as water. Using the natural landscape of the Muskokas, water is a visual element that will be seen through the scenery surrounding the building. Overall, the centre aims to express the power and elegance while providing services that benefit the health and higher needs of the patients.

Luna is an astrological name which can represent new beginnings. The name is of latin origin, and means “the moon”. The name spoke to the concept of the space as the rehabilitation centre is all about restoring health and providing individuals with a rejuvenation and a new start to their health. Since the space is also inspired by the moon, choosing an astrological name ties in the design inspiration of the name of the facility
